Dubai, UAE – Apparel Group proudly announces the successful launch of the first ASICS store in UAE at Dubai Mall, a significant event that took place on January 26th. The remarkable flagship store, covering an expansive 146 sqm and completed within a remarkable 14 days, is the first store in UAE and sixth in the GCC region which marks a significant milestone in the extensive expansion of the esteemed Japanese sportswear brand within the UAE. Emphasizing the widespread popularity of ASICS on a global scale, the opening ceremony was graced by the presence of international guest Eilish McColgan, a three-time Olympian and British/European Record Holder for the 10 km & 5 km. Joining her were Apparel Group Founder and Chairwoman, Sima Ganwani Ved, and ASICS General Manager, Seiji Hori. 

Founded in Kobe in 1949, ASICS stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano or “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” This philosophy underscores ASICS’ commitment to the positive impact of movement on both body and mind, a principle that resonates deeply in their product design and customer engagement. 

The grand opening event unveiled the Spring/Summer 2024 key running campaign, featuring the ASICS Gel Nimbus 26. One of the highlights of the evening was the introduction of the Running Gait Analysis, an innovative service that helps runners find the perfect shoe for their running style. This service is reflective of ASICS’ dedication to supporting athletes of all levels, from beginners to advanced runners. 

Blending sport with culture, the event offered guests a taste of Japan through authentic cuisine, performances by Japanese drummers, a DJ set, and a distinct shoe customization experience. The interactive Running Gait Analysis activation competition engaged and captivated the audience, showcasing the dynamic spirit of the ASICS brand. 

In addition, the event highlighted the ongoing collaboration between ASICS and their Tennis footwear brand ambassador, Novak Djokovic. Novak Djokovic has been instrumental in the promotion of the brand, even releasing a special edition of the ASICS COURT FF™ Tennis shoe, which has been well-received by tennis enthusiasts and professionals alike.
