Dubai, May 26th, 2022: Apparel Group partnered with various non-profit organizations to help communities in need, both locally and internationally during the Holy month of Ramadan.
R&B brand partnered with Smart Life charity to distribute 500 pieces of clothing and footwear to female blue-collar workers living in Dubai. R&B also partnered with Emirates Red Crescent Sharjah to distribute t-shirts to 58 men residing in labor camps. This activity aimed to provide necessary clothing items to women and children; while addressing SDG goal 1 – No Poverty.
Simultaneously, Apparel Group launched an internal employee donation campaign across GCC offices. All regional employees collectively contributed around 795 kgs of dry food and hygiene products. The 6thstreet team in KSA distributed 1,000 meals to laborers. The dry food items were gifted to 25 low-income workers and 111 needy families within the respective communities. This campaign addresses SDG goal 2 – Zero Hunger and ensures everyone has access to adequate food.

Furthermore, the Group celebrated Zayed Humanitarian Day on April 20th by sponsoring a community Iftar dinner organized by Saaed Association for Prevention of Traffic Crashers. This corporate sponsorship of AED 10,000 was in harmony with the charitable spirit of Ramadan and honors the UAE’s spirit of the union.
World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated on April 2. The theme for 2022 was “Inclusive Quality Education for All.” In an effort to support special needs children, Crocs brand initiated a month-long fundraising campaign across UAE, KSA, Bahrain, and Oman. The brand donated 20% of the profit from the new Ramadan footwear collection. Crocs raised approximately AED 40,000 throughout the 4 countries. The proceeds will be given to the following organizations: Senses Center, UAE Red Crescent Authority, Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Bahrain Red Crescent Society, and Dar Al Atta’a. Many people, especially children benefited from this contribution. To achieve SDG goal 4 – Quality Education, inclusive education ensures that no child is left behind.
Global footwear retailer, Skechers collaborated with Ajman Chamber of Commerce to provide school kits to disadvantaged children. 1,237 children in Manar Al Iman Charity Private School received new school bags for the upcoming academic year. This Ajman school, established by H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, provides free education to more than 4,000 orphaned and underprivileged boys and girls, between the ages of 3 – 16 years old.
Over the years, Skechers has actively supported various educational programs by providing school supplies to children who need them the most. Most recently, the brand partnered with Dubai Cares for an educational program during Expo 2020.
Moreover, Skechers participated in a Stationery Collection Drive organized by Emirates Red Crescent. The brand contributed 3,773 school supplies including water bottles, lunch boxes, pencil cases, and school bags. As a result, hundreds of underprivileged children have acquired new stationery for school.
Home-grown sustainable brand, F5 Global continued its fundraising campaign to support children’s education. For every t-shirt sold from F5’s ‘Tees for Fees’ collection in Athlete’s Co stores and 6thstreet.com, 100% of profits are donated to Emirates Red Crescent. In April, F5 raised AED 1,275.
LC Waikiki brand donated 100 toys in partnership with Cancer Patient Care Society Rahma. These toys will provide happiness and comfort to children battling cancer, who are being treated at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Tawam Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
New home-grown concept R&B Kids launched a toy donation campaign in Dubai Hills Mall. Customers donated their old toys and received a 20% discount on their total bill. 122 pre-loved toys were collected and recycled through this initiative.
6 Apparel Group employees spent 11 hours volunteering with children. Our team spent the day with 19 special needs students in Manzil Center making jewelry, and cards and performing yoga exercises. Furthermore, one of our employees hosted a Career Talk where 30 students received insights about various occupations within the retail industry and the skills necessary to achieve success in a fast-paced work environment.
